If drivers in Bernalillo, New Mexico, does not pay close attention to the safety standards while driving, they are actually compromising not only their own life and well-being but also the safety of other drivers and pedestrians. Car accidents often have a serious impact on the victims involved, causing serious injuries or fatalities.

A tragic accident on an interstate in New Mexico recently highlighted such a situation, where a car driver and her boyfriend were killed in a car accident. The driver and her boyfriend were in the front seats of the car at the time of the accident and the woman’s teenage son, who is deaf, was in the back seat. The car was hit from behind by an eighteen-wheeler truck that caused the car to flip over and catch on fire.

The female driver’s son was fortunate enough to emerge from the accident with almost no physical injury. Apparently, one of the car windows shattered from the crash and allowed him enough space to crawl out of the car. Investigators do not yet appear to have an explanation for all of the circumstances surrounding the accident. Meanwhile, the truck also ended up veering off the road and striking the embankment.

A car accident such as this may lead to the victims enduring considerable pain and suffering. In this instance, the teenage boy has lost his mother, which is devastating emotionally, but may also exact a significant financial toll. In accidents where a truck driver may be responsible for the accident, where liability can be shown in court, the driver and possibly even an employer may have to pay adequate compensation to the surviving victim as well as dealing with other consequences. If the case ends up before a judge, it may be advisable for the people involved to seek the advice of a legal professional who can safeguard their respective interests.
