Teen killed in Belen, New Mexico motorcycle accident

On Behalf of | Dec 4, 2014 | Uncategorized |

Motorcycle accidents have been a cause for concern for decades. Because of their relatively small size, motorcycle riders who are involved in a crash can end up suffering terrible injuries. And while New Mexico authorities have taken various initiatives to create public awareness about motorcycle riding safety measures, motorcycle accidents have been on the rise while other automobile accidents have continued to decline.

Recently, a teenage New Mexico motorcycle rider died when he struck another car. Investigation into the motorcycle accident indicated that the car made a left turn and the victim crashed into the passenger side of the car resulting in the 16-year-old’s death. Drunk driving has not yet been ruled out and an investigation is ongoing. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The car driver was taken to the hospital for injuries.

The authorities and the Department of Transportation in New Mexico have repeatedly started various initiatives and awareness programs about motorcycle safety. Since motorcycles are much smaller than automobiles, they are especially vulnerable in case of a motorcycle crash. These awareness initiatives have been created to encourage motorcycle riders to wear helmets while riding.

Motorcyclists involved in motorcycle accidents are vulnerable to brain and head injuries. These injuries may lead to permanent total or partial disabilities. A person suffering such disabilities and impairments may have to endure prolonged expensive medical treatments. Victims or their families may seek compensation by getting professional legal help in such cases. In general, it is important to be able to count on the support of a person who can offer guidance and sound advice.
