Motor-vehicle error causes injury to NM motorcyclist, passenger

The day likely began like any other for an Albuquerque motorcyclist and his juvenile passenger. A leisurely ride went awry, however, and the otherwise ordinary day turned tragic. According to reports, it looks like the motorcycle accident may have been due to an error made by a motor-vehicle driver, and, as a result, the motorcyclist and passenger were catastrophically injured.

The motorcycle accident occurred in broad daylight, during the early afternoon. On NM 528 heading north, the motorcyclist and passenger were thrown from their motorcycle after a motor-vehicle pulled out into their lane from a private drive, according to NMP. When the vehicle entered their lane, the motorcycle swerved to avoid the vehicle and lost control. It then struck a median and fell to its side when the two were thrown from the motorcycle.

NMP did close that area of the highway while they investigated the accident, in hopes of determining the cause. While their investigation has not yet been released to the public, the family of the injured will likely be very concerned to hear their findings. It is especially concerning since a juvenile was injured in the motorcycle accident, as well as the driver of the motorcycle.

If you are injured in a motorcycle crash caused by a negligent driver, then you may be able to file suit against the other driver. Motorcycle accidents often cause serious injuries and will require much medical care. Filing a personal injury claim against the other driver can help you recover the compensation you need to tackle the enormous medical bills you may be facing.
